Oh What A Day

Across the country, roads were closed as picnic blankets and tables were laid out, piled high with food and goodies as over 100,000 neighbours chose to turn off their tellies, leave their houses and take to the streets to meet, eat & celebrate.

Streets, car parks and greens were decorated with colour and filled with the hum of people chatting, children laughing and music playing. BBQ’s were alight and food dished out as people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds sat down to feast with each other.

We are overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and support shown by all of you involved this year. As the photos and stories start rolling in, we feel a huge sense of hope in the fact that more and more people are realising the immense importance of community. Thank you from all of us at Street Feast

Street Feast is a day of local lunches across Ireland hosted by you and your neighbours. They can be anywhere really - out on the street, in a local park or in your front garden.

There are lots of good reasons to have a Street Feast, but it's really just a great excuse to eat great food, celebrate your local community and meet new people who live near you.
