Street Feast, Ireland’s national weekend of community lunches, parties, and neighbourhood gatherings, is back and this year marks an exciting new chapter as Tesco Ireland joins as an official sponsor. This partnership will support local communities across Ireland to come together, share food, and celebrate connection.
Now in its 15th year, Street Feast is a simple but powerful way to bring people together. Whether it’s a tea and biscuit chat in the garden, a picnic in the park, or a full-blown street party, registrations are now open for Street Feast 2025, taking place on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th, 2025.
More than 800 volunteer hosts around the country have already registered their interest in hosting a Street Feast in their local community. Anyone interested in hosting a celebration will receive a free organiser’s pack with everything that’s needed to get started – from bunting and invites to planning tips and ideas. Sign-ups are now open at www.streetfeast.ie
Street Feast launched in 2010 and has grown steadily, with nearly 75,500 people taking part in celebrations nationwide last year. Hosting a Street Feast is an easy and meaningful way to build a stronger, more integrated community. By creating moments that bring communities together, Street Feast promotes social inclusion, integration, and a sense of belonging in neighbourhoods old and new. In fact, 96% of participants in 2024 say their sense of belonging has increased since their Street Feast. This aligns strongly with Tesco Ireland’s commitment to food and community.
Street Feast Co-Founder, Sam Bishop, said: “Street Feast was born from the simple idea that good things happen when neighbours come together. Over the past 15 years, we’ve seen thousands of friendships formed, ideas shared, and communities strengthened. We’re thrilled to have Tesco’s support as we continue to grow the movement and make this year’s Street Feast the biggest yet.”
Suzanne Quinn, Customer Director at Tesco Ireland, added: “At Tesco, we believe food has the power to connect communities. We are excited to help neighbours across Ireland to meet, gather, celebrate, and share special moments over great food this May. Bringing people together is at the heart of everything that we do, and we are proud to be involved in this initiative that champions community spirit in such a joyful way.”
